2011 Mahindra Mojo 300

The first step towards solving any problem is acknowledging the existence of the problem in the first place. Mahindra Two Wheelers admitting that theStallio is indeed beset with gearbox issues last week. This week, we have them working together with another Mahindra owned firm, the boutique engine design firm, Engines Engineering.

A team from both Engines Engineering and Mahindra Two Wheelers’ R&D department are working closely to iron out all the glitches and rework certain components of the Stallio’s gearbox assembly. The 110cc commuter motorcycle, whose production and sales has been temporarily stopped by Mahindra, will be relaunched with the new gearbox shortly.

Coming to the next big announcement from Mahindra’s end, the Mojo 300. The motorcycle touted to pip the Bajaj Pulsar 220F as the fastest Indian will now be launched during the Indian festive season of Dasara-Diwali. The launch which was scheduled for the first quarter of this year has been postponed as Mahindra does not want to rush through things as end up with issues like that of the Stallio.

While that is indeed a good thing, we hope that Mahindra does not make Indian motorcycle enthusaists wait endlessly for the Mojo 300. Meanwhile, the other big detail: the price still remains a closely guarded secret for now, we expect the Mojo 300 to be priced well under INR 2 Lakhs, if it is to be given a fitting chance to survive and thrive amongst competition like the  soon-to-be-launched 2011 Honda CBR250R.
